Free music distribution
Your music, everywhere. No cost attached.
XZONE MEDIA puts independent releases on the stores that matter, for free — no upfront cost and no annual fee.
You keep 100% of your rights. It stays your record; we just get it out and show you what it earns.
What you get
Nothing to pay to release
No fee to submit, no annual fee, and no charge when you take your money out.
You keep 100% of your rights
You own the master and the songwriting exactly as you did before you sent it.
Every store that counts
One delivery, and the release lands across streaming and download platforms.
Reporting you can read
Where the plays came from and what they earned, in plain numbers.
What it costs
To submit
Nothing. There is no upfront fee to send us a release.
Each year
Nothing. There is no annual fee for keeping your music live.
Your royalties
You keep 90%. Our administration fee is 10% of what the stores pay us, and nothing else comes off.
To get paid
Nothing. There are no payment or withdrawal charges on top.
Where we pay
A bank account anywhere in the world, a Nigerian account included.
Minimum payout
£20. Anything under that carries over to the next payment rather than disappearing.
Both figures are printed here and written into your agreement, and they are the same figures. For most independent artists 10% works out cheaper than paying a yearly subscription somewhere else: a distributor charging around £18 a year only starts to beat it once you are earning more than roughly £180 a year in royalties. Below that, this costs you less.
How it works
Four steps, and you are not committed to any of them until the third.
- 01 Review You send the master you want released. We listen to it and check the release over.
- 02 Agreement If we can distribute it, you get the full agreement — every term, fee, royalty arrangement and payment condition, in writing.
- 03 Confirmation You read it and tell us you are happy. Nothing moves until you do.
- 04 Distribution We deliver the audio to the stores and it goes live on the date agreed.
You do not have to commit to distribution before we have heard your music and put the full agreement in front of you. Nobody should be asked to hand over a master on a promise.
Where it lands
- Spotify
- Apple Music
- YouTube Music
- Amazon Music
- Deezer
- Tidal
- Boomplay
- Audiomack
Plus the smaller stores and streaming services each of these delivers on to. Store availability can vary by territory and by release — we will tell you if anything on your release cannot go somewhere.
What to send
- 01 The final master WAV or FLAC, 16-bit or 24-bit. Not an MP3, and not a rough mix you plan to replace.
- 02 Artwork, 3000 x 3000 Square JPG or PNG, no blurred edges, no logos you do not have the rights to use.
- 03 Titles exactly as you want them Track titles, artist name and any featured artists, spelled and punctuated the way they should appear forever.
- 04 Who wrote and produced it Everyone with a share, and what that share is. Sorting this out afterwards is the single most common reason a release stalls.
- 05 A release date, if you have one Two to three weeks’ notice gives playlist pitching a chance. Sooner is possible; it just skips that.
Send us your music
Send a link rather than a file — Dropbox, Drive, WeTransfer, anything we can download from. A master is a big upload to make from a phone, and a link never times out halfway.
Nothing goes anywhere until we have talked and you are happy with the terms. A person listens to everything that comes in.
How the free distribution works
There is no fee to put a release out through us and no annual fee to keep it live. When the money comes in you keep 90% of it: our administration fee is 10% of what the stores pay us, and nothing is taken off again for paying you — no transfer charge, no withdrawal charge, whatever it costs us to send it. We pay into a bank account anywhere in the world once your balance passes £20, and anything under that carries over.
We do not take everything that comes in. A person listens to every submission, and if yours is picked up you will get an email opening your artist portal. Everything lives there from that point on: your agreements, contracts and documents, every release and exactly where it has got to with the stores, and your plays and earnings as they come in.
The agreement covers how long it runs, who can take a release down, how you leave, and the same 10% and £20 printed above. You get it in full after we have reviewed your music and before you commit to anything, and you can ask for it earlier than that. Any distributor who will not show you the terms before taking your master is one to walk away from.
Need the record finishing first?
Mixing, mastering, artwork and the video are all in the building. Distribution is the last step, not the only one.
